This year’s Winter Film and Art Festival was exciting and exceptionally expressive, turning an ordinary school into an extraordinary evening. In the music department, the band was a smash, led by musical director Noah Henrickson, playing numerous Christmas classics. Heading the night was “Hallelujah Chorus”. These striking songs still did not overshadow the smaller performances, as shown by Joslin, a one-woman-band, who glowed radiantly in the presence of musical giants.

In drama and performing arts, the students worked in cooperation with theater director Alexandra Bustos, in which they are preparing for a production of Clue. They have been rehearsing and developing their artistic set design to bring this exciting murder mystery to the Grant stage in March. Bustos is thrilled about the contributions that the drama department has made to the festival, as she believes this program gives students a space to create, perform, and share with the surrounding community the work that is being done each day.

In traditional arts, several realistic and artistic artifacts were created and put on display, showcasing the profound talent of the artists at Grant. Holiday ornaments, culinary objects, and beautiful ceramic sculptures could be seen on display throughout the festival. Stunning paintings, such as abstract acrylics, animal displays, and stunning landscapes adorned the wall displays throughout the festival. In digital arts, cinematic movie posters wowed the spectators of the festival. In graphic design, dazzling web pages, buttons, and graphic collages stood out as a certain highlight of the night. Staff, students, and community members alike are especially excited to see what the artistic scene of Grant has to offer next!
